Terminating Decimals
- We can use long division to calculate the decimal representation of a fraction.
- For example, ⅞ is equal to 7 ÷ 8.
- A terminating decimal is a decimal that ends.
- 0.875 is a terminating decimal.

- For example, 7/12 is equal to 7 ÷ 12.
- A repeating decimal is a decimal with numbers or groups of numbers that repeat indefinitely.
- 0.5833333... is a repeating decimal.
