Student Expectations
Heats operates as an extension of the school day, and students are expected to follow the Jackson Student Code of Conduct. Students are expected to follow all directions and respect all staff members. It is important that we continue to uphold the Hearts expectations and procedures, to provide a safe learning environment for all students and staff in Hearts.
Behavior Expectations
Students are expected to follow the same behavioral expectations that are given during the school day and must follow our 4 pillars of character.
Show Kindness
Be thankful, kind, and considerate to all peers and staff
Work together to settle disagreements peacefully
Come to Hearts with a positive attitude
Observe Safety
Be checked into Hearts within 10 minutes of dismissal and be ready for pick up with their teachers.
Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself
Follow directions the first time given
Keep to the designated area
Act Responsibly
Follow directions the first time given
Own your actions
Accept the consequences of your actions
Respect Others
Keep our classrooms, schools, and community clean.
Report incidents to adults
Use appropriate language
Help others make smart decisions
If students cannot follow a behavior expectation, the following consequences can be enforced:
Verbal warning
Loss of privilege(s)
Suspension from Hearts
Dismissal from the Program
Guardians will be notified after a verbal warning. Repeated suspensions through the end of the year will result in dismissal from the program. Additionally, as Hearts is an extension of the school day, behavior that does not follow our Jacksons Elementary School Student Code of Conduct, found in the student planner, may also result in consequences during the school day as well.
