Rise Up Health Clinics is a nurse-led, non-profit organization that provides no-cost health services to students of all ages and has Minnesota Essential Community Provider designation.

Clinic Nurse: As Needed
On average, the nurse will work approximately one day/week in the fall and one or two days/month as needed for the rest of the school year. This is a flexible, as needed position.
The candidate must be flexible in their ability to work alternating days and will report to the clinic nurse manager. The nurse will help with mobile clinic events and provide direct patient care as needed. Schedules are determined between the nurse, nurse manager, and clinic site.
The position is an hourly rate; we are only open during school days. There are no benefits with this as-needed position.
This position is scheduled to start training in summer 2025, with clinic dates starting in August.
The clinic nurse provides direct patient care and performs daily clinic operations within the school-based health centers, mobile clinics, and outreach, education, or community events.
Responsibilities:
Manage immunization procedures and ensure compliance with vaccination schedules and guidelines.
Provide direct patient care on scheduled clinic days and offer coverage as needed to maintain continuity of care.
Act as a clinic liaison to discuss resources and represent the organization at outreach events.
Collaborate closely with healthcare providers to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
Deliver additional care through community outreach initiatives and mobile clinics to expand access to healthcare services.
Contribute to clinic policy development and participate in process improvement initiatives.
Attend staff meetings to facilitate communication and contribute to clinic planning and coordination.
Promote a positive, professional, and welcoming environment for patients, families, and staff.
Ensures that care provided is culturally responsive and gender-affirming, promoting diversity and health equity. Engage and participate in DEI education and training.
Serves as a preceptor to nursing and interdisciplinary health students.
Promote a positive, professional, and welcoming environment for patients, families, and staff.
Assist with technology troubleshooting, electronic health record (EHR) management, and billing processes.
Submit required clinic reports for credentialing and licensing purposes.
Demonstrate willingness to engage in clinic process improvement and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in nursing.
Active Minnesota Registered Nurse License.
Commitment to School-Based Health Centers (SBHCs), diversity, and health equity.
Positive interpersonal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with patients and colleagues.
Motivated to improve clinic accessibility and service delivery to meet the needs of diverse patient populations.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks.
Previous experience in School-Based Health Center (SBHC) clinics or at vaccine clinics is preferred.
Experience working with pediatric patients of all ages.
Comfortable with technology and willing to learn new software, technology, and virtual programs.
Proficiency in multiple languages is preferred to support diverse patient populations.
