Vianey Lopez immigrated to the U.S. at the young age of 4. As one of the youngest of 11 children, there were opportunities she was afforded that her siblings did not have. Raised locally, Vianey attended kindergarten through middle school in the Hueneme Elementary School District before graduating from Hueneme High School in 2005.

In 2009 Vianey graduated from Loyola Marymount University where she earned a bachelors of science in business administration. In April 2012 she completed a Masters in Public Policy from Pepperdine University where she emphasized her studies in international relations and state & local policy.

She was elected to the Hueneme Elementary School District Board in 2012, where she served for 6 years. As a school board member she advocated for increased parent involvement, the dual language immersion program, and supported the work of teachers and staff to move education and the district forward. For 3 years she also participated as a delegate of region 11 of California School Boards Association (CSBA) Delegate Assembly.

Presently, she works for Assemblymember Monique Limón in Santa Barbara and Ventura counties as her District Director. Prior to joining Assemblymember Limón, she worked for former Congresswoman Lois Capps.
