Our 5th graders have been kicking off the year with energy, teamwork, and lots of fun challenges in PE! This month, we focused on games and activities that build coordination, strategy, and sportsmanship while keeping everyone moving and engaged.
Here is what we have been up to:
Flag Tag: Students sprinted, dodged, and strategized to protect their flags while trying to grab others’.
Learning Goal: Develop agility, speed, and spatial awareness while practicing fair play.
Modified Handball on Scooters: Students used scooters to move and pass while working together to score goals.
Learning Goal: Strengthen teamwork, coordination, and communication skills through cooperative play.
Stick Reflex Drills: Students worked on quick reactions and focus with team stick drop challenges.
Learning Goal: Improve reaction time, concentration, and hand-eye coordination.
Dodgeball Games: Students practiced throwing, dodging, and teamwork in fast-paced games that kept everyone active.
Learning Goal: Build accuracy, agility, and sportsmanship in competitive play.
Wall Ball: Students tested their timing and control by bouncing and catching against the wall.
Learning Goal: Develop rhythm, coordination, and strategic thinking during gameplay.
The 5th grade class has PE on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please remind your students to wear appropriate attire on these days.
