Dear families,
These past weeks, we have been exploring our new unit on physical descriptions. Students are learning the differences between English and Spanish nouns and practicing how to combine adjectives with nouns through games, oral activities, and other interactive exercises. It’s been wonderful to see their creativity and engagement in action!
We started by reviewing all the vocabulary on body parts and add some new words..
“¿Eres flexible?” — How flexible are you?
Students practiced body parts vocabulary by creating sentences using Mueve y Toca (Move and Touch) and inviting their classmates to act them out.
Examples students used : Toca la cabeza con el pie y mueve la nariz, Toca el pie con la nariz y mueve los hombros, etc...
In the second part of our lesson, we dove into the Spanish concepts of masculine and feminine in nouns, exploring how to use the articles el, la, los, las. Students enjoyed lively discussions about the gender of nouns and worked together trying to figure out what article to use for each noun.
And finally, students had the chance to apply what they learned by creating their own descriptions, which involved some kind of monster...
They did a wonderful job presenting their characters to the class..
It is such a joy to teach your children!
Wishing you all restful, joyful winter break! ❄️
Warmly,
Señora Raquel
