Dear Families,
What a wonderful start to the year! The students came in with great energy and enthusiasm, and it has been a joy to see their excitement in every activity. We began August with review games to help ease back into the rhythm of learning, and the students quickly re-engaged with the language.
I introduced our first third-grade unit, El Restaurante. We began by learning vocabulary related to food, drinks, and desserts. Over the next few weeks, students will practice this vocabulary through a variety of activities until they feel confident using it. Once they are ready, each student will design their own menu, which we hope to share with you during Spark Night! From there, we’ll move on to learning how to order food in Spanish, and we’ll wrap up the unit with skits where students can showcase everything they’ve learned. For now, we’re focused on the first step, which will keep us busy for the next several weeks.
