Sending out onboarding binders to each new hire was resulting in expensive printing, packaging, and shipping costs
Solution:
Switch these materials to an editable PDF to send to new hires instead. As well as saving money, this improved efficiency and job satisfaction

There is a 3rd party service that the company uses to help verify logins and phone number porting. This service sends backend messages, known as API calls, to a server to verify this information. This tool was making more calls than necessary, resulting in unnecessary fees

Optimize number of calls this tool makes during login verification and number porting

Problem:
When a customer cancels a credit card payment via chargeback, RingCentral is not reclaiming taxes
Solution:
Include reversed taxes on compliance report to receive reimbursement from government

Problem:
RingCentral started SMS metering for all RC direct customers Q2 2022. However, during the rollout, there were some customers whose SMS billing was turned off, resulting in them using free SMS.
Solution:
Review these customers and turn on their SMS metering, so that we avoid monthly SMS costs we are incurring, and also start generating revenue.

Problem:
The Agreement for Whitelisting International Phone Numbers allows customers to request that specific blacklisted destinations be allowed. Whitelist cases take a lot of time from the fraud and support team, and it is a frustrating and long experience for the customer.
Solution:
Provide ability for customer admin to sign digital Whitelist acceptance form on Service Web, saving time for fraud and support team and improving resolution time for customer.

Problem:
Dummy email addresses are used during the implementation of a new customer. These are not removed from SFDC so most customers seen in SFDC have 2 entries

Run script to remove the dummy emails

Automate appropriate CSM reports that drive adoption. Consolidate CSM, Account Manager and Renewals Managers from being on the same account. Expand roles of other team members

Eliminating the use of single-use plastic bottles allows us to save about about $1 million on drink supplies, prevents plastics fragments in work and public spaces, and potentially reduce health risk caused by toxic chemicals released from plastics

The Let's Save It Program
The Let's Save It Program was launched May 2022 to allow employees voices and ideas to be heard.
Employees are encouraged to submit any cost savings idea. They can submit individually or as a team.

A panel of RingCentral leaders from organizations that may include Legal, Finance, Strategy and the 'implementing' team will review and score your idea based on feasibility and impact.
Is there a limit to the number of ideas I can submit in a year?
Yes, you can submit up to 10 concepts each calendar year.
Your manager is a great advocate for your innovation - so this both recognizes your contribution and provides insight to load-balance and prioritize your day-to-day responsibilities.
If the idea is part of your day-to-day responsibilities, then it is not eligible for the 'Let's Save It' program.

Investing time into the detail on the front end of the process streamlines the path to implementation and provides information to effectively evaluate your idea.

While you won't know if an idea has been previously submitted, that shouldn't discourage you….submit away!
Ideas are time-stamped when they are submitted, so will be handled in the order they are received. The first one received will be prioritized for eligibility.
The Let's Save It program is all about incremental expense savings. While other submitted concepts won't be eligible for this program, we'll do our best to route other concepts where they need to go. And thanks for thinking like this!
Please make reasonable assumptions - no need to request specific financials for the initial submission, just be thoughtful and rational with your calculations. The next step of the process will include a Finance partner.
