Mental Health Awarness Month

MAY IS NATIONAL MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH!

The month of May is dedicated to bringing awareness, tools, resources, and education to the public about the importance of supporting, discussing, improving, and maintaining our mental health.

MENTAL HEALTH IS HEALTH and vital to our overall balance and well-being. When you’re mentally healthy, you are able to enjoy your life and the people in it, feel good about yourself, maintain relationships, and cope with stress. To learn more about different ways to maintain good mental health follow the links below from Mental Health America @www.mhanational.org/mental-health-month

It is also a time to shift our focus from awareness to action and take steps to purposefully improve our mental health just like we would our physical health. Last May 2021, a coalition of more than 1400 nonprofits, brands, government agencies, and influential leaders from 32 countries came together to shift our mental health culture from awareness to action on the first Mental Health Action Day! For more details on this new initiative visit: https://www.mentalhealthaction.network/

This year's Mental Health Action Day is May 19th, and it is a day designated to encourage and empower people of all ages to take action for themselves, for their loved ones, or for their community according to their personal preferences. For additional mental health resources, please take the time to visit www.mentalhealthishealth.us/ And, remember action looks different for everyone but no matter what you’re experiencing, there are many ways you can take action to support yourself and those around you. Small steps in the right direction make a big difference!
