My first connection with Ridgeview began when my oldest child started kindergarten here in 2006! (Since then, all 3 of my children have grown up here!)
I've also volunteered in the Music Department for 17 years as accompanist and rehearsal assistant. It was my privilege to serve as Theatre Club Sponsor and Director of Ridgeview's Fall Plays for 6 seasons from 2017-2022.
Plays prepared under my direction include: Remains to be Seen (2017), Sixteen in 10 Minutes or Less (2018), Check Please! (2019), It's A Wonderful Life: A Radio Show (2020), Appropriate Audience Behavior & When Bad Things Happen to Good Actors (2021), and The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon (2022).
I also worked as a substitute teacher for 5 years, covering a lot of different areas, including some long-term appointments in K-5 general music & JH/HS choirs for a year, in the district library for 2 stints, and 2nd grade for a semester. I learned so much in the classroom with Ridgeview students!!
Though I was primarily a stay-at-home mom for about 17 years, music continues to be a huge part of my life. I have taught private voice and piano lessons in my home since 2001, and currently teach 3-4 evenings a week. I've accompanied many Ridgeview student musicians at solo/ensemble contest, served as a vocal judge for various state contests, vocal coach and accompanist for community theatre, and was very involved with music in my church for decades.
I have a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the Conservatory of Music at Capital University, and also worked as the Admission Counselor for the Conservatory and University for a few years after receiving my degree.
My Family at my oldest daughter's wedding in June of 2023
She married her Ridgeview High School Sweetheart!
My family has lived in Arrowsmith for more than 24 years now, and we have to come to love the Ridgeview community very much!
My husband Jeremy works for an insurance company that is pretty well known in our area, and he is also the head of Ridgeview's Wrestling program, coaching the high school, junior high, and kids club as well.
Our kids, Annah ('19), Sylvia ('21), and Caeden ('23) all attended and graduated from Ridgeview. Our oldest, Annah, graduated from SIUe in 2023 with a degree in Vocal Performance and a Business minor, married her Ridgeview sweetheart in 2023, and now works as a life insurance underwriter. Sylvia is a 2025 summa cum laude graduate of the SIUe Honors Program, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Medical Biology with minors in Chemistry, Forensics, and Cello Performance. She served as a student instructor in several science courses, an RA, a Bible study leader, URCA researcher, and member of the Running Club. Our son, Caeden, graduated from The Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, Ohio, and is a music producer and licensed audio engineer who writes, records, produces, and releases music under the name dØØden.
My hobbies include crochet, web design, and cooking. Now that our kids are grown, when we find spare time, Jeremy and I like to relax by streaming a series together. Some of our current favorites are: The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Only Murders in the Building, and Will Trent. We do own all 10 seasons of FRIENDS on DVD and enjoy laughing to an episode every night.
