Hello Ridgeview families and thanks for visiting my page. I am your Title One Reading Teacher, Mrs. Borton. This will be my 40th year teaching. I have taught at Ridgeview for 33 years. Along with Title One Reading I have also taught first grade, art, music and computers in the district. I have also taught second grade and Title One at Leaf River, IL. I taught fifth grade along with Title One for schools in St. Louis.
I attended Illinois Wesleyan University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Reading. I also expanded my education by attending Webster Univeristy in St. Louis where I studied Early Childhood.
I live in Gibson City with my husband, Tom who is an attorney at Livingston Law Firm in Champaign. We have two children, Austin and Blythe and two grandchildren, Blair and Brooks. Our son, Austin, is also an attorney in Wisconsin along with his wife, Jasmyne. They have our two grandchildren. Our a daughter, Blythe, lives in Scottsdale, Arizona. She is a wine cellar designer.
If I am not teaching I enjoy gardening, reading, working out, playing pickleball, tennis, kayaking, traveling, biking, knitting, being with my family and decorating the outside of my house for Halloween.
