Class overview

The Ridgeview Physical Education classes are designed to get our students up and moving. We work on making sure that they learn how to properly stretch, work on making their bodies healthier and stronger, and learn strategies on how to work together in a fun and safe environment. Our main goal is to teach all students to be active for life!

About Me

Hello everyone - my name is David Ludwig. I am starting my 22nd year at Ridgeview teaching Elementary and Junior High Physical Education. I teach grades Kindergarten through 7th grade.

I graduated from Illinois State University in 2003 with my Bachelors in Physical Education Teaching and in 2025 with my Masters in Sports Management and Marketing. Currently I am pursuing my 2nd Masters in Physical Education.

When I'm not at school I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I love watching sports of all types especially the sports my kids play. I have 3 children who attend Ridgeview - Senior daughter and twin Sophomore boys.

About Me

Hello - my name is Emily Hopt. I am a Teacher's Aide for Elementary Physical Education. I have worked at Ridgeview since 2005 and with Mr. Ludwig for the past 14 years.

I graduated from Ridgeview High School in the 90's. I am married with 3 kids, 2 extra-kids (son-in-law and daughter-in-law), and 2 brand new grandkids!!!! We are so excited!!

In my free time I love to garden, spend time with family especially my new grandbabies! Most of the time you can usually find me in the kitchen doing what I love - baking!

Personal Message

Our main goal is to get everyone up and moving while trying to find some activity that they would like to do for life!
