In art class we will be learning about the principals of art and design. These can and will include color, value, emphasis, shape, line, contrast, pattern, rhythm, balance, movement and unity. Students will also be learning about various artists and art styles as they venture through the art program. The objectives of these classes are to learn the basic art skills such as cutting, gluing, drawing, painting techniques, clay manipulation, etc., and to have fun while learning to be neat and follow directions. Students will be able to use these life skills every year as they grow and learn from one grade level to the next.
My name is Christine Hoffert. I enjoy teaching art to all children. When students listen, follow directions, go slow and try to be neat, they can create anything in the art room that is required of them.
My husband and I have been married for 26 years, and we are both art teachers. I enjoy reading, arts and crafts, watching movies, being with my family, and being outdoors. Playing with my cat and dog is so much fun. My son is 21 years old. He is studying to be an architect at the University of Illinois in Champaign. He will be a senior this year.
I look forward to getting creative with your child at Ridgeview.
