After being born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, I moved to Phoenix, Arizona when I was twenty years old and lived there for twenty-eight years. I attended Arizona State University (Let’s go Sun Devils!!!), earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, and then earned my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Arizona University (Yay, Lumberjacks).
My husband, Andrew, and I raised our children in Arizona and loved our time in the desert, however, both kids have graduated college, moved away, and have lives of their own, although we enjoy traveling and visit them often. My daughter, her husband, and my adorable granddaughter live in Austin, Texas, so I have also become a surrogate Longhorns’ fan (Hook ‘em, Horns!). My stepson is attending graduate school in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, however, I am in no hurry to become a fan of Pennsylvania sports teams (Fantasy Football ruined the Steelers for me years ago).
In July of 2018, Drew and I moved to Ridgefield, where we are now avid SPUDDER fans, and we are excited to be a part of such a special community. Although I have taught AP U.S. Government for the past eleven years, I am looking forward to teaching Health and Independent Living this year at Ridgefield High School.
My hobbies include: kayaking, hiking, playing tennis, scrapbooking, going to the beach, watching sports, spending time with family and friends, and eating (hence the need for so much physical activity).
