Biography
I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, and moved to Phoenix, Arizona when I was twenty years old, living there for twenty-eight years. I attended Arizona State University (Let’s go Sun Devils!!!), earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, and then earned my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Arizona University (Yay, Lumberjacks).
My husband, Andrew, and I raised our children in Arizona and loved our time in the desert, however, both kids have graduated college, moved away, and have lives of their own. That being said, we enjoy traveling to visit them often. Our daughter, her husband, and our adorable grandchildren live in Austin, Texas, so I have also become a surrogate Longhorns fan (Hook ‘em, Horns!). Our son lives in North Carolina with our precious granddaughter and he works as a Physical Therapist.
I started teaching (my second career) in 2005 and cannot imagine doing anything else - I don't know why I waited so long to make the switch to education! I taught in Arizona for thirteen years before moving to Ridgefield in 2018, and naturally, Drew and I are now avid SPUDDER fans. We love being part of such a special community and are proud to call Ridgefield home. I have taught AP U.S. Government and Politics since 2009, and am looking forward to teaching it, along with CWI this year.
My hobbies include: kayaking, hiking, playing tennis & pickleball, going to the beach, watching sports, spending time with family and friends, and eating (hence the need for so much physical activity).
