Each student will receive an individually assigned Chromebook in September. Insurance must be purchased by each family and is a requirement. The cost of the insurance is less then $27.85 annually and covers the following:
- Accidental damage
- Mechanical breakdown
RPS Technology Assistants will be available at the start of each school day in the school Library Learning Commons (LLC) to collect damaged Chromebooks or document reports of the loss or theft of devices. The RPS Technology Department will process insurance claims on behalf of the students. While the insurance claim is being processed, the student will be provided with a temporary Chromebook from the library. It is important to note that during this interval, the student/family is financially responsible for any damage to or loss of the loaner device. Loaned Chromebooks may be taken home on a case by case basis, to be determined by the School Administrators and Librarian.
Parents will pay for insurance through an online payment system. Additional information will be provided in August regarding the insurance policy and payment method.
