Chromebook Information
Receiving a Chromebook
9th grade students receive their Chromebooks during the first week of school.
New or incoming students will be directed to the Tech Office to get a Chromebook upon enrollment.
Chromebook Cases
Students will receive their school Chromebooks in a transparent hard shell case. Cases are mandatory. If a device is missing the case when it is turned in there will be a $35 fee added.
If a device is damaged in a way that would not have been possible if the case had been installed, insurance will not cover it due to inappropriate use.
Chromebook Insurance
Insurance must be paid each school year by September 30th. It is payable at the SVHS fees window or through Parent Portal.
What does insurance cover?
Screen damage (normally $100).
Plastic damage (normally $50).
Keyboard damage (normally $50).
Any other damages to the device.
*NOTE* Insurance can only be used ONCE. Any other damage fees are the responsibility of the student.
What does insurance NOT cover?
Loss of the device (up to $400).
Loss of charger or case ($35 each).
Any damage after the insurance has been applied.
Damage that could have been prevented by the case.
