Christina Smith

About the Instructor

Welcome to my science site! My name is Christina Smith and I am so excited to be teaching at Spring Valley this 2023-2024 school year! I married my wonderful husband in September 2019 and we welcomed a baby boy in March 2021. We also have two dogs named Fitz and Zoe.

I am a Blythewood graduate that went all of the way to Boston University to earn my B.A. in Biology with a concentration in Ecology and Conservation Biology. I couldn't stay away from the South for long though; I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of South Carolina. Go Gamecocks! 

I love coaching soccer, baking, and being outdoors hiking, camping, and stargazing! I love spending time with my husband, son, and our two dogs, as well as friends and family.

Science and learning are my passions and I hope to instill these interests in all of my students! Like one of my favorite science educators always says: "Take chances, make mistakes, get messy!"
