Ridge View Achievements

• This is the twentieth consecutive year making the state finals for the Blazer Marching Band.

• Conversion of game field to artificial turf

• Inaugural award of the Gabbiee Swainson Memorial Scholarship, funded by the “Cuts for Gabbiee”.

• 28 students won awards through the Scholastic Art and Writing Southeast Region Competition.

• Over 20 students completed the National Healthcare Foundations Standards exam, which is endorsed by the National Consortium for Health Science Education.

• 14 HOSA students placed in the Top 10 at the State Conference with 5 students receiving Gold medals, 2 students receiving Silver medals, and 1 student receiving a Bronze medal.

• 6 DECA students placed in the top 10 at the State Conference.

• Blazer Rangers wins 1st place in the JROTC Postal Markmanship Competition out of over 40,000 entries

Staff Achievements

• Brooke Bedenbaugh named as head coach for the North All-Stars Girls Golf Team who won the North-South Game.

• Wendi Wimmer wins McWaters “Flip It” Contest and receives $40,000 classroom makeover.

• Vince Clayton named Bandmaster of the Year by Phi Beta Mu, National Professional Bandmasters Fraternity, and chosen to adjudicate the Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors Associations' State Assessment Concert Festival.

• Alumnus Brandon Tensley named Henry Luce Scholar.

• Schyler Horton is inducted into the Terry A McCoy Leadership Hall of Fame.

• Dennis Daley awarded 4A Upper State Lineman Award by SC Football Coaches Association.

• Michael Holbrook places 2nd in Young Musician Competition.

• Alumnus Sarah Hammond receives Richard Rogers Award for Musical Theater.
