B. S. Business Education, Thomas College
ESL Endorsement
Welcome,
Welcome,
Growing up in a rural Maine town, I knew early on that I wanted to be an educator. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business Education from Thomas College in Waterville, Maine, I worked for five years as a Business Educator teaching in a variety of high school Business classes. When we moved to New Hampshire, I worked began to explore the world of technology assisting both teachers and students in integrating technology into their lessons. After the birth of our two children, and four more moves to Colorado, Kansas, North Carolina, then back to Kansas, I worked for twelve years as a Technology Coordinator for a K-12 school in Wichita, Kansas.

While in North Carolina I took a long-term substitute assignment in an ESL (English as a Second Language) classroom. I discovered that I enjoyed teaching ESL students and this prompted me to add an ESL endorsement from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas to my certificate. I have worked with a wide variety of students from Kindergarten through adult. The one thing that has remained constant throughout my career is my life long love of teaching and learning.

Currently, I am proud to be working in the Career Prep program and RidgeView High School. I enjoy combining my experiences of teaching career readiness and technology skills with teaching reading, writing, and math to assist students in discovering and succeeding in their chosen career path. When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy swimming, hiking, boating, gardening, reading, and spending time with my family.
