ELA & SS - Pixton

You should currently have a book that you are reading, regularly, each night. Because we don't do Accelerated Reader in middle school, this is our alternate assignment for the Reading Category in the grade book.

Book Requirements

5.0 Grade Reading Level or higher
Must be a minimum of 175 pages

Anything less than these requirements must have teacher approval BEFORE selecting the book.

This book report will take the form of a digital comic strip. You are to create a comic strip on Pixton, that is a summary of an important or exciting part of the story. Click here to view how to use Pixton!

Requirement #1 - Summary

Choose an important or exciting part of your book that you would like to retell in your comic strip. A good option might be the climax of your story.
This part should include action and dialogue.
You will need to write a two-paragraph summary of this part of the book. Each paragraph needs to have at least seven to eight sentences.

Requirement #2 - Digital Comic strip

Your comic needs to have at least 10 panels.
Refer back to your written summary as you decide what to include in each panel.
Make sure that the sequence of events is clear and easy to follow.
Panel 1 - needs to have your name, title of book, author's name.
You need to include information on the following throughout your comic strip:
- Main character and secondary characters
- Setting
- Dialogue

Important Information for T1:

Due Date: Wednesday, October 25th
However, if you turn this assignment in by Friday, October 20th, you will receive 2 extra credit points for being early!
We will be giving you some time to complete this in class during Stations!
