MENTAL HEALTH

Reynoldsburg City Schools is committed to empowering the whole child. This includes a diverse and comprehensive array of mental health focused resources through community partnerships, school-based health & wellness services, social emotional learning curriculums, licensed mental healh professionals across buildings, and continuous development of programming to meet needs. 

As a District, Reynoldsburg engages in regular surveys and screening measures to identify student needs. These screening tools identify students facing mental health needs and those who are at risk across elementary, middle, and high school locations. All students (K-12) receive social emotional learning (SEL) curriculums aligned with best practices. All 12 Reynoldsburg City Schools have district-employed behavioral health specialists to assist with group and individual services. Students and families in need of more intensive services have access to an array of community partnerships focused on mental health that include Nationwide Children's Hospital Behavioral Health, The Buckeye Ranch, Southeast Healthcare Inc. Prevention Services, Integrated Services Behavioral Health, and more. 

Beginning in the 2022-2023 school year, students in elementary through high school will engage in Sources of Strength suicide prevention programming. This evidence-based SEL curriculum focuses on identifying interpersonal and community strengths to overcome existing barriers and risk factors. Sources of Strength aims to remove social stigma and isolation by building cohesive student communities despite differences. The state of Ohio has recognized this curriculum as the gold standard for suicide prevention. You can learn more at sourcesofstrength.org.
