Hello! Welcome to GBR Science & Social Studies. My name is Amy Hilbert.
I'm entering my 9th year of teaching. This is my 7th year at WRMS and 4th year teaching Science & Social Studies. I graduated from OSU with my Bachelors & Concordia University Chicago with my Masters.
I geek out on history, especially civilizations, and LOVE to include Bitmojis as much as possible. I'm never too far from an iced coffee, even with 12 inches of snow and below freezing weather. And I love to celebrate Cells!

Daily Task List
What are we currently covering?
We rotate back and forth between science and social studies. We cover a whole unit at a time before we switch to the next content area. It will be very important to check the daily agenda above as well as the Weekly Overview found on the Weekly Task Overview page of the student portal.
General Class Expectations
Students need to appear a few minutes prior to the start of our Google Meet.
Students are muted with their videos on during our time together.
Students are to use the chat to ask questions of the teacher.
Chatting back & forth with classmates=texting on their phone in class. Students know phones aren't allowed in class when at school.
Direct instruction & review always happens in the first 40 minutes of class, so it is extremely important to be on time
Every standard has at least 4-6 assignments, including an assessment, which are included in their final grade.
Students are able to rework any of these assignments one time to improve their grade.
The list of assignments can be found on the Overview for each unit.This is the first item listed under our topics.
Warm-ups, pre-assessments, and other in-class assignments or activities are used to create my small groups. These assignments CANNOT be reworked.
Students will always be given a study guide for their assessments. It will have a majority of topics on it, but not always.
