Dr. O’Connor teaches eleventh grade Literature and Rhetoric at Founders. She grew up in Connecticut with eight siblings. She attended college in New Hampshire and then moved to the Great State of Texas to pursue a doctorate in Literature at the University of Dallas. Delighting in the vocation to motherhood, she has raised one son and six daughters. Dr. O’Connor is a certified teacher who taught 5th and 9th grade Literature at Founders before taking time off to complete her dissertation on Toni Morrison, entitled Poetics of Exodus: Beloved and the Black Modern. Two of her children are FCA graduates and two currently attend. The best moments of free time are spent hanging out with her girls, especially snuggling up to read aloud. In addition to keeping a few garden and house plants alive, Dr. O’Connor hopes to get her scholarship published.
