Mr. Smith serves as the Athletic Director for the Founders Lewisville campus. He has a strong passion for all sports and cherishes the opportunity to work with all Founders students to instill in them the drive, focus, work ethic, and chemistry it takes to be the best they can be for their school, coaches, teammates and themselves. Raised in Coppell, Texas, he graduated from Coppell High School in 1996 and was a four year varsity baseball player as a left-handed pitcher and designated hitter. During his baseball career at Coppell HS, he won a 4A state championship during his 1995 junior year while recording the game-winning hit and being the winning pitcher against Southlake Carroll in the regional finals to advance to state, the winning pitcher in the state semifinal game against Nederland, and was 6 for 8 at the plate in the two game state tournament that included going 4 for 4 in the state championship game against Lamesa. Mr. Smith received a scholastic/baseball scholarship from Northwood University in Cedar Hill, TX where he pitched for 4 years and threw a no hitter during his junior season. Mr. Smith graduated from Northwood University in 2000 earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Management of Information Systems/Business Management and Minor in Mathematics. Before his arrival at Founders Lewisville, Mr. Smith worked for more than 20 years as a resource manager/talent acquisition specialist/technical recruiter with professional service firms providing comprehensive services for government and private sector customers located throughout the United States. He also served as a Facility Security Officer and maintained a Top Secret Clearance from 2009 to 2022. Mr. Smith has been married for 23 years to his beautiful wife, Liz, and has two kids, Trotter (10th grader at Founders) and Haleigh (freshman at Oklahoma Wesleyan University on a softball scholarship and in the nursing program).
