Cardboard Bug Relief Sculptures
Husband and wife team Romy Boesveldt and Ilya Yashkin own Studio Roof, a Dutch design studio that creates colorful cardboard bug relief sculptures. They believe that imagination and playfulness are a key element that pervades every aspect of life, at all ages.
This line of thinking motivates their creative process and ultimately unfolds in their cardboard relief sculptures– masks, birds, insects, cities, sea animals, earth creatures and many more.
Their highly original collections are all inspired by nature.
Relief sculpture is sculpture that is meant to be viewed only from the front. The forms of relief sculpture are raised up and stand out from a flat surface.
