Welcome to the
My name is Reshada Pullen-Jireh.
I am an actively exhibiting artist, educator and creative problem solver. I have over 20 years of experience creating and making things happen for myself, my collectors, and the communities I serve.
I am a prolific visual storyteller specializing in drawing, painting, illustration and digital media solutions. I also facilitate visual arts professional developments for schools, with a focus on infusing contemporary art practices in the the classroom.
This website is a "living document" holding a growing compilation of the digital resources that I have created to support my art education work over the past 20 years.
I've taught in public schools, charter schools, independent schools, churches, museums and community events. I've held pop-up workshops, hosted online art schools, facilitated hybrid and e-learning during the pandemic, lead professional development sessions, created curriculum for homeschooling families and taught private lessons.
I say all this to say that the content on this site is an amalgamation of all the things over the years, featuring a mix of documentation that is both low res and hi res because of the change in tech over the years and my access to a variety of means to capture, edit and share.
Feel free to look through the art lessons. Welcome and Thank you.
Creating - The process of creating provides students with opportunities to communicate distinctive forms of meaning, develop their technical skills, take creative risks, solve problems and visualize consequences. Students are encouraged to draw on their imagination, experiences and knowledge of materials and processes as starting points for creative exploration. They can make connections between their work and that of other artists to inform their thinking and to provide inspiration. Both independently and collaboratively, students participate in creative processes through which they can communicate ideas and express feelings. The creating strand provides opportunities for students to explore their personal interests, beliefs and values and to engage in a personal artistic journey.
