The purpose of the Wayne County Alternative Educators Network is to serve teachers in unique contexts that have been historically underserved.
Participants will engage in a networking series designed to build alternative educators’ capacity as they tackle common issues facing teachers and students in alternative educational settings. Thought-provoking speakers and resources will equip teachers with innovative strategies to support students’ sense of purpose, leverage student engagement, and nurture impactful student outcomes. By supporting alternative secondary educators with the further development of trauma-informed, inclusive, and responsive classrooms that meet the social, emotional, and academic needs of students, we can support educators and students in ways that traditional schools could not.
