Roi Et Rajabhat University (RERU) operates a comprehensive wastewater treatment system to ensure environmentally responsible sewage disposal. Wastewater from campus buildings undergoes preliminary treatment in underground treatment tanks before being conveyed to a stabilization pond equipped with solar-powered aeration paddle wheels. This process effectively provides secondary treatment, utilizing natural and biological mechanisms to remove organic matter and suspended solids.
The treated effluent meets the national standards set by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment under the Enhancement and Conservation of National Environmental Quality Act, B.E. 2548 (2005). The quality of treated water is monitored through laboratory testing and the results are reported annually to the Koh Kaew Subdistrict Municipal Office.
In alignment with the university’s sustainability goals, the treated wastewater is reused for landscape irrigation, agricultural reserves, and ecosystem conservation across the campus, reducing freshwater demand and promoting circular water management.
