We have been getting out in our outdoor area as much as we can. We love being outdoors and exploring with provision in different ways. Here are some of the things we got up to last week:
We have our very own window clearners in Reception. Lots of shoulder muscles being used here.
This little boy went fishing and found lots of numbers.
We have been making lots of delicious cakes in our mud kitchen.
These boys made their very own outdoor band using items from the planting area.
We have had lots of fun exploring in continous provision and using some enhancements.

We loved celebrating Eid and talking about the ways we celebrated.

We have been building our own number blocks. We used lots of finger muscles to join the unifix cubes.

Reception have their very own phonics teacher now. We loved using our phonics resources to role play.

We have loved exploring sand using different levels and tubes.

We have created lots of different tunnels and towers using rods and connectors. We challenged ourselves to crawl through.

We have been making 6 in different ways. This little boy made some 6 fruit salads.

We have been curiosy about our new story book and had some clues in our cube.
Reception had such great first week back. We have had so much fun exploring and learning with our friends.

We have been able to use our own life experiences to role play a day in the hairdressers/barbers.
We have loved looking at pictures of our friends's hairstyles and celebrating the diversity in our classroom.

We have been identifying 2D shapes, making shape patterns and sorting shapes based on their properties.
We have been learning the same of 2D shapes. We counted the amount of sides and verticies to help us identify them.
We took part in lots of shape busy time!

We loved coming to school in our pyjamas, to raise awareness for Children in Need. We also compeletd lots of Pudsey themed tasks.
After lots of interest in maps and pirates, we set off on our own treasure hunt around school.
We used a map to show us the way and used prepositional language as we travelled towards the treasure.
We found the treasure and took it back to class!
We loved spotting the items hiding in our 'I Spy' bottles.
This girl performed a ballet dance for her friends.
This girl made Sid the cat using loose parts.
Lots of phonics teaching happening during provision time.
This week we have been focusing on using the part-part-whole model to subtract and combine groups.
We have completed part-part-whole models using images of two groups.
This girl drew fireworks over the Liverpool skyline. She said they were colourful and shiny.
This girl created an under water world. She identified the animals that lived there.
This girl was ironing all the clothes for the people who were staying in her hotel. She was then able to dress the babies.
This girl persevered when trying to build a double tunnel tower. She was very pleased with herself!
This boy used the instrument to speed up and slow down.
This boy used the instrument to help with his counting.
Today, Reception explored the use of the part-part-whole model in maths. We were able to combine two groups to find how many there were altogther. We identified the parts and the whole.
We have had such a busy few days back in class. We have enjoyed vet role play, lots of number recognition and counting, building and discussing our emotions.

We chose the animals we'd want on our own magnificent broom.
We have made potions using the water and spiders. Some of our potions make people disappear.
We have made play dough cakes and counted the candles.
Reception have started the week off with lots of learning and exploring. There has been lots of fine motor practice, role play and creating.
Reception are getting the hang of all of our daily routines. We have been especially good at transitioning from provision back onto the carpet. we all love finding our carpet space animals.
