About Rainbows @ St Silas
Rainbows @ St Silas is committed to giving children the very best start in life. We understand that these early stages are crucial in terms of children’s learning and development, and we aim to provide a nurturing, challenging and stimulating environment that encourages all our children to learn, explore, discover and grow, so that they can thrive and achieve their full potential. Working in partnership with parents and carers is an extremely important part of how we ensure that each and every child receives individual care in an environment where they feel valued, respected and loved so that they can become confident, happy learners.
We believe that #eachandeverychild deserves the best start in life and thrive to provide children with nurture, life experiences and a strong foundation for future learning.
Our provision comprises of our Raindrops Room for children up to 2 years old and our Sunshine Room for children between the ages of 2 and 3. We also recognise that all children develop at their own pace, so we monitor children’s stages of development closely to ensure that the provision they receive reflects their needs. Some children from our school Nursery also attend for before and after school provision.
We work closely as a part of the wider Early Years team to ensure all Rainbows provision is in line with whole school policies.
We aim to offer an environment where the health and safety of every child is paramount and that enables each child to enjoy and achieve through stimulating and exciting experiences, which supports a positive life-long attitude to learning and succeeding.
We aim to:
Provide quality learning and care experiences for all children.
To promote positive relationships between children, practitioners and families that fosters a happy and caring environment.
To create a partnership with parents to support and enhance the development of the children, reflecting co-operation and respecting equal opportunities
To provide a curriculum which takes account of, and responds to, the child’s individual development and needs and allows them to make progress related to their different abilities.
To ensure that children have positive experiences of success in order to give them confidence and motivation for learning.
We are committed to excellence, and our staff members are all highly trained. They receive regular in house and external professional development in order to ensure that the care we provide for each and every child in Rainbows @ St Silas is of the highest quality. We hold regular supervision meetings which enable us to continually evaluate and adapt the care we provide based on individual children and their needs. Our staff are involved in regular learning walks as part of their performance management cycle. This ensures there is regular feedback and we continue to develop practice throughout the year.
