The Gender and Trade Coalition's first Steering Group was constituted in May 2019 with a total of 14 groups, including 8 women’s organisations and 6 allies. Members include:

Initiators
The Gender and Trade Coalition was initiated at a March 2018 meeting of feminist activists from trade unions, women's groups, development policy, and academia. The initiators of the coalition (listed below) formed an interim coordination structure that generated broad-based membership and constructed a governance process for the mobilisation of a Steering Group in May 2019.
