AP English Language: Making Argument & Analysis Accessible for Non-Traditional AP Students

It's easy to use AP Classroom and former test questions to teach the traditional AP student. But for non-traditional students, just accessing those texts can be daunting, never mind the skills needed to answer the questions. In this session, teachers will hear some ideas of how to make the high level skills demanded in composing argument and analysis essays more accessible for non-traditional through relevant and *gasp* possibly even fun activities. There will also be time for idea swapping among all participants.

Activation Energy and Reaction Coordinates

For my presentation I will discuss reaction coordinates and activation energies. This is an advanced AP subject but I will demonstrate how it can be broken down into bite-size pieces, and used as a component within an AP Chemistry or even AP Physics class. As both classes are interconnected at their core, such a presentation could ostensibly be used in both curricula.
