Student Senate


The Student Senate is the leadership and government arm of the student body. It represents the entire student body on matters relating to the welfare of students. Our mission is to foster positive spirit, encourage service participation, and promote civic engagement within the Woodland school community to enhance the experience of the Student Body, and to fulfill our motto ‘Here to Serve’ – one poster, one project, one leader at a time.

Mia Carranza '20

My name is Mia Carranza and I have been a member of student government for three years now. My freshman year I was class president, sophomore year I was chair of the Spirit Committee as well as the Service Committee, and this year I am chair of the FSA committee. I’m also a member of the woodland drama club, book club, and CSI woodland. I have a passion for positive change and I hope to continue using my position to make our school a better and more enjoyable place for the student body and staff.

Leader of the Right

My name is Camille and I am currently a junior senator, floor leader, and class officer. I first joined Student Government when I was elected into the position of class historian my freshman year. My sophomore year I became a senator and I continue to hold both positions for Junior year. I am also the Clerk of the Citizenship Development Committee for the 18-19 school year. Other than Student Government, I am the captain of the swim team, a member of Woodland Worldwide and Book Club. I hope to continue working on Student Government projects and helping to make Woodland a better school for all students and staff.

Hi! My name is Anna Nichols and I'm a freshman at Woodland. I love being part of student government! As a senator and chair, I feel involved and excited to learn new things about Woodland and it's students. I enjoy hanging out with friends and watching sports games with my family. I'm a die-hard Red Sox and Patriots fan and even have a golden retriever named Brady :)

Fatima Khalid '19

Hello! I'm Fatima Khalid and I am the financial clerk for the Fundraising Committee. I have been a member of student government for the past three years and I love being a part of this organization because I enjoy being a leader for the school, helping the community, and working on projects that allows everyone to have a voice. I'm also a member of the World Language Honor Society and the National Honor Society. After graduating I will be attending Bentley University in the Fall of 2019, which I hope to major in Business Management.

Jennifer Guluzy '19

Jennifer Guluzy is a senior and has been in Student Government for three years. She is on the School Spirit and Student Recognition committee. Jennifer is a journalist for Hawk Headlines and participates in both Woodland and community theatre. She will be studying communications with a focus in journalism for her future.

My name is Alanna Drmic. I am a senior. I have been a WRSG senator for two years and it has been such a great experience for me. It helped me build up my confidence and it made me feel great giving back to my community that offers so much for me.

Noah Behrle '21

My name is Noah and I have been in Student Government for 2 years. I am in the Committee on Citizenship Development. I run cross country and swim for Woodland. I may be one of the biggest Patriots fan in this school. I have 1 sibling and a dog. I hope to be in Student Government for years to come.

Elayna Beutel '21

My name is Elayna and this is my first year in Student Government. I am the clerk of the Fundraising Committee. I play volleyball and basketball. In my off season, I manage the softball team. I am also a member of DECA and Global Scholars. I have four siblings and a dog named Copper.

Eryn Haddad '21

Hi! My name is Eryn Haddad and I have been a member of WRSG for one year since I spent my Freshman year fighting my teacher on joining. Now as a senator, I am the Publicity Clerk for the Committee of Citizenship Development. I spend my other time completing community service and maintaing family relationships at Heart and Sole Dance Studio. I teach little boys and girls how to dance and I also dance myself. I love to joke around and turn negative situations into something positive but I love a good fight to stand up for my options

Emily Laput '22

Hello! I am Emily Elizabeth Laput. I am in Senate for the Committee of Service to the School and Community because I care deeply about service as well as helping others. Even though I have only been in senate for one year, I hope to be in it for all four years of high school because senate allows me to help the school alongside very inspiring and responsible individuals. I am involved in woodland Worldwide. I was I also on Woodland’s Volleyball Team in the fall this year. Outside of school, I volunteer for Seymour Pink.

I am Gavin Moffat. I'm a Senator for Student Government, I'm also the Scheduling Clerk for the Committee of Citizenship Development. This is my first year in Student Government, and I hope to continue for the next three years. I am a part of DECA, Soccer, and Track. I hope that through my work in Student Government I can help make Woodland a better school.

Alexis Landrigan '22

I’m Lexi Landrigan. I am a freshman at WRHS. I am one of the senators for Student Government and also the class secretary for Class of 2022. When I’m not in school, I like to hang out with my friends, go to concerts and different Broadway, and visit new ballparks. During football season, I spend every Sunday watching the Patriots game with my family and friends. I’m excited about being part of Student Government and contributing to our school.

Kimberly Poulos '22

I have been in student Government for only one year, because I'm only a freshman. I am also a class officer for my class and participate in clubs such as best buddies. I am also involved in school sports. I run track and help out with the best buddies unified sports team. I am also a competive dance outside of school.

Hey, My name is Ryan Holden Kuhns and I'm from Beacon Falls, Connecticut. I'm a very energetic and caring person. I love french fries for your information and Star Wars is great! This is my first year in being in Woodland Regional High School and this is the only club I participate in.

Abigail Messina '22

My name is Abby Messina and I am a freshman here at WRHS. This is my first year in Student Government and I am excited to continue my work here. I am also the Treasurer for the Class of 2022, a journalist in Hawk Headlines, and a member of the Ski club. I love traveling with my family and I have been to 21 states including California and Hawaii. My favorite experiences I have had while vacationing include zip lining over valleys in Maui and eating a dole whip while watching fireworks in Disney World.
