The library program at Chester Elementary School seeks to guide students as they develop into critical thinkers, enthusiastic learners, and ethical users of information. Chester Elementary School's Library provides a welcoming space for students, staff and the school community where life-long learning, creativity and a love of literature are fostered.
CES Summer Reading 2022!
Students were given this game board at the end of the 2022 school year! Your challenge is to READ all summer and earn as many points as possible! We will see you at the start of the 2022-23 school year and please turn in your game board then! Remember to visit your Chester Public Library for books and Summer Reading events!

Mrs. Stephanie Carvin

Library Assistant
Mrs. Carvin is a certified Library Media Specialist who has a Master of Library and Information Science from Southern Connecticut State University. Her undergraduate degree is from Providence College and she holds a Bachelor of Social Work. She is the former Children's Librarian at the Willoughby Wallace Memorial Library in Stony Creek, Connecticut and in addition to being the 0.7 Library Media Specialist at CES, she is also currently employed at James Blackstone Memorial Library as a Reference Librarian. Before becoming a librarian, Mrs. Carvin held positions as an Adoption Caseworker and as a preschool teacher. She resides in Branford with her husband, Tom and and their two teenagers, Shane and Bryn and their dog, Elmer. Mrs. Carvin loves spending time with her family, reading (and listening to audio books), music, going for walks, visiting Cape Cod, cooking, crafting and painting!
Mrs. Bostrom is the fantastic Library Assistant in the CES library! (She is also a bit camera shy.)
