Learning Objectives
In middle school ELA, students will grow as readers, writers, speakers, and thinkers. They will learn to analyze stories and informational texts, identify themes and main ideas, and use evidence to explain their thinking. Through writing, they will craft clear essays, arguments, and narratives, strengthening their use of structure, transitions, and vocabulary. Students will practice participating in discussions, listening and responding to others, and presenting ideas confidently. Along the way, they will refine their grammar, style, and word choice to make their communication stronger. By the end of 8th grade, they will be able to develop and defend claims, compare ideas across texts, and use research to support their writing—all skills that prepare them for high school success.
About Me
I grew up in Harlowton, Montana and graduated from Rocky Mountain College in April 2025. Coming from a small town, I knew that I always wanted to end up teaching in a small town.
I love forming new connections with students, parents, and staff, and look forward to getting the opportunity to teach in such a great community.
