A Little About Mrs. Drayer
A Little About Mrs. Drayer
Hello and welcome to Second Grade! I am so glad that you are here! My name is Mrs. Drayer and I would like to share a little about myself and my teaching experiences with you! I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary and Special Education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, as well as a Master’s Degree in Reading from the same institution. With a career spanning diverse roles and settings, I have taught for close to 20 years.
My journey in education has taken me through various roles, including a Developmental Consultant at Head Start, a Learning Support teacher at Shaler Area Middle School, and aTitle I Reading teacher at Northwestern School District. I also gained valuable experience through my roles at Holiday Park United Methodist Preschool, as a building substitute for Plum Borough School District, and through my own tutoring business. Then God directed my steps here - to Redeemer Lutheran School as a Second Grade teacher!
What I love most about working in a Lutheran school is the opportunity to freely live out my faith and share my love of Jesus with students. I am deeply passionate about connecting with children and providing them with the support and encouragement they need to thrive. I firmly believe that every child can grow and achieve, emphasizing the importance of creating a positive environment and support system tailored to each student's needs.
In my classroom, I try my best to foster a welcoming and nurturing environment where children feel loved and supported. I utilize diverse methods of learning to meet the needs of all students, ensuring that learning is both structured and enjoyable. Something I find great joy in, is witnessing my students' growth and moments of discovery, cherishing the opportunity to make a difference in their lives.
Outside of my teaching responsibilities, I enjoy spending time with family and friends in the comfort of our old farmhouse near Boyce Park. My husband and I are very proud of our three children, Caleb, Eden, and Elijah. My heart is full, as I watch them grow into the teenagers and young adults God intends for them to be. I love to embrace the beauty of all four seasons and enjoy hiking in the wooded area behind our house, antique shopping, and savoring cups of coffee. As a pastor's wife, I am actively involved in community outreach programs and within my church family.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12:1 - 3

Each Day I will remind your child:
1.They are a created child of God.
2.They are loved and valued by God.
3.God’s love was demonstrated to them by the sending of His Son to take away their sins and bring them into His family.
4.God wants all people to receive His grace, mercy and love and then share it with others.
5.That I love and care for them.
