Inspirational Quote of the Day: "You have three names in this world. Your family name, the name your family gives you, and the name you make for yourself."
Objective: Balloon race is a Science Olympiad competition where the goal for your team of students is to attach a weight to a helium filled Mylar balloon in order to determine the lifting power of the balloon. This involves calculating the density of the material given and determining the amount of material that limits the ascent of the balloon. Unlike a foot race where the lowest time wins, the winning team will have a balloon touch the ceiling with the longest amount of time.
Balloon race requires you and your teammates to,
Communicate
Measure mass accurately using a triple beam balance
Measure area
Follow directions
Show good sportsmanship
