Research and Writing in a Digital Age - Grades 7-8

In this session, we will examine the research writing process using Google Docs, Slides, and more! We'll also use the Explore Tab to make sure you are getting the most out of these apps.


The Research Writing Process

  1. Find sources with

  2. Save sources by saving or printing to Google Drive or with bookmarks!

  3. Organize info & pre-write with Google Drawing graphic organizers (also try Google Keep)

  4. Cite sources and reverse look-up with the Explore tool

  5. Voice typing in Google Docs

  6. Saving Named Versions in Docs

  7. Peer and teacher editing with comments and suggesting mode

  8. Use Classroom to assign, collect, and review student work

    • Originality Reports (plagiarism checker)

    • Comment Banks

    • Feedback options
