Creating virtual lessons that actually have your students excited and engaged can be challenging. In this workshop, we will walk you through step-by-step on how to create interactive asynchronous lessons that will actually engage your students. We will also share tips and tools that you can easily use in your lessons to keep track of which students actually respond or if they completed the lesson.

Pear Deck allows you to turn your regular presentation slide deck into an interactive lesson by adding short answer text, multiples choice, drag, and draw questions directly onto your slides for students to engage with in real time. As the teacher, you can monitor and address student work, feedback, questions, and misconceptions during your online lesson. In this session we'll walk through a brief overview on setting up Pear Deck, best practices for online use, and Q & A.

Session 3: Setting up your classroom for Distance Learning: Digital Routines and Productivity for Distance Learning bit.ly/scottcoDL

The foundation of any online learning experience is an organized place to communicate, hand-out and collect digital work. Fortunately, there are some great platforms you can use as a stand-alone or in conjunction with your existing systems. We’ll overview some of the best options and get hands-on with a couple so you can experience them as a student. A few tools that we will explore are Google Classroom, Google Slides, Google Forms and Google Meet.
