November 13: 1/2-day ELA and 1/2-day History

ELA session provides instruction, modeling, and workshop time with the following topics: digital publishing using websites and many forms of collaborative lessons using Google Docs.

The history session focuses on publishing templates with Google Slides including a variety of template samples for use with any age level (e.g. newspapers, newsletters, posters, trading cards, etc.); discover Google Geo Tools and VR to take virtual field trips; and explore some exciting web-based apps outside of the G Suite of tools to improve student research and creatively demonstrate student learning.

November 14: 1/2-day Math and 1/2-day Science

The math session gives math educators confidence in using digital tools while providing students with strategies to make their thinking visible. Teachers are provided instruction, modeling and workshop time with the following topics: digital math on Chromebooks, student engagement with KnowledgeHook, math portfolios, and screencasts to make student thinking and problem-solving visible.

The science session allows participants to explore G Suite and web-based tools to create engaging science lessons using the NGSS 5E lesson organization. Topics covered include using Google Slides to create visual arguments, collecting and analyzing data on Google Sheets, using Google Docs for science simulations, and learning how Breakout EDU Digital games can be an engaging, inquiry source for science lessons.
