Google Certified Educator Level 1 Bootcamp

These sessions will assist educators in discovering the power of the Google Apps Suite and prepare them to pass the tests necessary to be recognized as Google Certified Educators in their respective levels. Topics include, but are not limited to, Google Docs/Drive, Sites, Gmail, Calendar, Chrome Browser and review of educational apps. Note that this is a preparation workshop series only and time to take the Google Certified Educator exams is not included in this professional development event. Workshop participants must study for and complete the exams independently. EdTechTeam will provide workshop leaders, online resources for participants, a voucher for the exam, and an online evaluation for the sessions.

Explore the core areas of G Suite to increase professional learning and leadership; efficiency in the classroom; and student learning and creativity. We’ll explore several tools in Google’s Level 1 curriculum, all of which are taught within the context of meaningful use with students and teachers. Segments include the Chrome browser, search techniques, and Google Classroom… as well as Google Drive, Docs, Slides, Spreadsheets, Forms, Calendar, Sites, and Groups. Gmail, Meet, and YouTube are also included. In addition to the tools, participants are exposed to critical student skill sets necessary for learning in an online environment.

Google Certified Educator Level 2 Bootcamp

Move beyond the basics of Google tools and learn how to maximize 21st century learning in the classroom. Participants explore and create purposeful blended learning lessons while enhancing student understanding of topics and concepts. Learn to organize course work and leverage the Internet to better meet the needs of an increasingly digital curriculum. We’ll explore key units in the Level 2 curriculum including personalized learning models and coaching models.

Google’s Certified Educator Level 2 focuses on meaningful and creative ways to integrate the 4Cs in the classroom. Level 2 teaches the advanced features of G Suite including HyperDocs using Google Docs, Maps and MyMaps for geo-instruction and virtual field trips; digital portfolios with Google Sites; and using screencasting techniques for developing learning libraries in YouTube and more. Level 2 is the perfect place for teachers who are ready to try something new and engaging in their classrooms all while preparing them for Google’s Certified Educator Level 2 exam.
