Norwich Science Festival
Introduction
Throughout the 2021 Norwich Science Festival HomeSounds broadcast live environmental sound from Wheatfen Nature Reserve in the heart of the Norfolk Broads. It also ran a series of free and paid for events for all ages online from, and in person at, Wheatfen.
The following year, through a collaboration between Norwich Science Festival, The British Science Association, The Norfolk Wildlife Trust, English Heritage and the RSPB, HomeSounds installed live streaming microphones at Pigneys Wood, Titchwell Marsh and Grimes Graves. The microphones shared the acoustic habitats of these places for more than a year, and alongside ran a series of in-person and online sound walks and other listening activities and events.
You can re-visit some of these activities here.
