One of our objectives as a Catholic school is to raise awarenes of justice issues both locally and around the world, and develop in our students a zeal to address them. On February 13, 2026, the students from St Dominic's High School will have the opportunity to participate in a wake-a-thon, at the school. A wake-a-thon is a fundraising event wherein students go without sleep for donations to a charity.
Our student have selected to support Chalice, a Canadian Catholic organization that provides sponsorship and community projects in developing nations.
Students participating in the wake-a-thon will first meet at the school at 8:00pm. Students who cannot stay overnight must leave by 12:00am- after that time the school will be locked until 6:00am.
Our night’s programs will include movies, board games, video games, and sports, as well as big group games. Students should bring snacks to share, and their own video games and systems. Video games and movies are subject to approval. Pizza will be provided late at night, and breakfast will be provided in the morning. The Wake-a-thon will be over by 8:00am, Sat February 14, 2026.
Each student must raise a minimum of $50. All money raised goes to Chalice.
Please encourage your son or daughter to attend this extremely valuable event, and to raise at least $50 for this important work! Registration is due February 13, 2026. Donors who would like to receive a tax receipt should fill in the information on the attached form.
