Foundations of Algebra 2 is a local course designed to prepare students for an entry level college mathematics course. Students enrolled in Foundations of Algebra 2 Local will spend a considerable amount of time exploring concepts and skills connected to Algebra 1 and Algebra II shared standards. Students will continue to develop algebraic reasoning, concepts, and skills by applying the functional relationships of linear, quadratic, exponential, and inverse models to the solution of real-life problems. Students explore concepts of sequences, polynomials, rational functions and equations, complex numbers, rational exponents, and exponential equations.
Additionally, this course allows ample time for teachers to address unfinished learning, particularly for students who need to retake the Algebra 1 Regents exam. The resources labeled as Unit 0 may be used throughout the course to differentiate instruction in preparation for retaking the Algebra 1 Regents exam. The guidance given includes information about prioritized clusters and standards.
