Foundations of Geometry
Foundations of Geometry
Foundations of Geometry Course Description:
This course will focus on developing students' understanding of foundational Geometry concepts. Students will use critical thinking and reasoning skills to solve real-life and mathematical problems. They will expand on their prior experiences from middle school to formalize geometric ideas, specifically transformations, which will help them understand and justify geometric relationships. The course will cover topics such as congruence, similarity of triangles, transformations, and properties of triangles. It can be offered as a full-year or semester-long course (double periods), but it does not lead to a Geometry Regents exam.
