This website is meant to be a resource for our instrumental music students and families.
You will find all the information needed to start this school year in this handbook. This website also will be used to communicate announcements, lessons, and events. We will post supplemental videos and information for students and families to refer to at home.

Hi There!
My name is Ms. Rochlin and I am the 5th grade band teacher here at Washington Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year.
Alyson Rochlin received a dual bachelors in music education and flute performance from Cal State Long Beach. She is a first year teacher here in RBUSD. In addition to teaching band, she also teaches private lessons for the entire woodwind family in her spare time and plays in pit orchestras for local theater companies. She started playing flute at the age of 10 in the RBUSD Beginning Band program at Birney Elementary and developed a love for the instrument throughout her time in middle and high school. While her main instrument is flute, she is also known to play saxophone, clarinet, oboe, bassoon and any other instruments she can get her hands on. She is so excited to introduce instrumental music to all of her 5th grade students.
