Welcome to Art Class!
Here at RUHS, we pride ourselves in our rigorous Art program that creates opportunities of growth and development for beginning artists, advanced artists, and everyone in between. Students will earn an appreciation of art history and have access to a variety of art mediums, techniques and skills. through their experimentation, process and practice, they will also utilize and develop many different 21st century skills including creativity, craftsmanship, problem-solving, innovation, collaboration, critical thinking, and more!
Meet your teacher!
My name is Mrs. Michele Andrade and I have the great privilege of being your Art I, Art 2 and AP Art and Design Teacher this school year! I hold a BA in Art Education and a Single Subject Teaching credential in Art from CSULB. This will be my 16th year teaching Art and my 9th year at Redondo Union High School. Art is my passion, my creative outlet and my calling... I hope that I can inspire my students to become creative problem solvers with a deep appreciation and understanding of how the arts enrich our lives and our culture.
I currently live in the OC with my husband Matthew, our babies Micah (11), Michaela (9), and Malachi (5), Mara (3) and our 5 fur babies. I enjoy painting, drawing, reading, traveling and spending time with my family and friends.
I feel very fortunate and blessed to be your Art teacher, doing what I love and am passionate about, and I am excited to create with you all!
