Imperfect

Looking in the mirror, you analyze the imperfections

Considering all that is wrong with the image you see

Poking and prodding at the things you don’t like

Wanting to erase “the negatives”

Tearing at the things you want to remove,

but can’t.

They’re a part of you.

Every single indent, mark, crease

All the bumps and dimples

Each part is you, reflecting who you are

What you went through

Scars on your arms

Show the dangers you’ve overcome

Cuts showing the wounds of the past,

Slowly healing with you over time

The imperfections are you and you alone.
