How to use a power-stroke hone

Honing a block is the next step after boring or just to clean the cylinders up for new rings. This video shows the use of a Sunnen CK10 which we use in our shop

using a boring -mill

Boring an engine is the process of making the cylinder boring bigger. In this video it shows using a boring mill to take .020 out of 1 cylinder

Surfacing an engine block

Surfacing an engine block or head is done to make sure the surface is flat for the new head gasket. It also gives you a means of changing the surface finish for different head gaskets. In this video it shows an engine block being surfaced with the use of a CBN or PCB cutter. You can also use grinding stones depending on what the desired finish will be.

Seat and Guide machine

The seat and guide machine is used to replace hardened seats, valve guides and to cut new 3 angle valve job on cylinder heads. These videos show the type of machine we use in our shop.

Crankshaft grinding and polishing

Crankshafts are re-ground generally because of a major engine failure. Most of the time it is because a bearing rod or main has spun on the crankshaft and caused it to be out of round. Polishing a crankshaft is done to remove fine scratches or to remove minimal amount of material. Polishing a crankshaft should be done on any engine that is getting rebuilt.
