Even after COVID made remote work ubiquitous, many workplaces in the US still require workers to be in-person and most require certain work hours, no matter what type of work you are doing.

Women disproportionately face work "pauses" more often than men due personal "causes" like:
Staying home with children
Caring for aging relatives
Any other need for flexibility in a family situation
And in the current environment, perceived lack of workers in an industry, or desired higher profitability, has led firms to offshore the labor within their firms to other countries.
When the pause happens, access to meaningful, satisfying work can be extremely limited... and the financial repercussions over one's lifetime of multiple or long-term pauses causes irreparable harm to ones' earning ability and retirement.
The Women+Workplaces community wants to change that by providing a community for:
W O R K P L A C E S
that see the value of workers long on skills but short on time and specific availability
and
W O M E N
that have great skills and want to work but need jobs that can accommodate personal situations
Workplaces and Women have separate communities within W+W where they are able to ask questions, share experiences and collaborate within their own group...
...and then the magic happens when...
Workplaces post job openings and Women post that they are open to work -
and each side finds the right fit for them!
